Message from the Chairman of the Board The May 18 Memorial Foundation, Anyeong hasseyo, greetings, welcome!
 Welcome to the English Section of The May 18 Memorial Foundation Website. Since we are unable to translate everything on our Korean website, we have decided to create an English section which is primarily focused on the activities and programs of the Culture and Solidarity Team and their promotion of our International Solidarity Program.
Since its estalishment in 1994, the May 18 Memorial Foundation has been actively involved in international solidarity work with other civil society groups in order to promote human rights, democracy and peace. It is through these efforts that we keep alive the memory and spirit of the May 18 Gwangju Democratic Uprising. The English section of our website is our way of keeping you informed of our activities and programs.
We will do our best to keep our website up-to-date so that you can regularly check it for new information. We therefore encourage your active presence, since we may not always have the opportunity to meet face to face. We want to be of service to you and we promise to value your suggestions and recommendations so that we might further improve our solidarity work with you.
