Domestic and International Exchange Space

Realizing the Status of a Democratic, Human Rights, and Peaceful City

By continuously providing a space for domestic and international civil society exchange, we realize the status of a leading democratic, human rights, and peaceful city along with the spread of the 5.18 Spirit.

Gwangju Democracy Forum

Since 1999, it has been held annually in May, serving as a venue for the exchange and communication of international civil society activists centered around Asia. It explores creative alternatives and solidarity through issues such as human rights, democracy, peace, state violence, and regional conflicts in Asian civil society.
